The Heroes Force Story
Shannon Thibodeau (Canadian Forces Member), an Aircraft Structures (ACS) Metal fabricator Instructor from CFSATE, 16 WING Borden, Ontario, has designed and created the first Canadian Soldier Action Figures, 1 Air Force, 1 Army, and 1 Navy. These were created as a hobby.
They are all based off of real Canadian Soldiers. $1.00 from each one sold will go to the Soldiers On fund in Ottawa to help our injured and fallen soldiers families. As of now 6000 toy figures have been produced. Cost of the figure is $10.00 (at select retailers). He presented one to our Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, and to Col Wood, his last Commanding Officer of 16 Wing, and he custom made a figure for a best friend of a fallen soldier on his wedding day. Borden is the first CF base that these figures are going to be sold at. These figures are known as the "Heroes Force" Collection.
Shannon, has had 3 tours, 2 Afghanistan and Europe, so he has seen what so many military members had to overcome, himself being one of them. This is his way of Honouring the sacrifices our present and past military members do that protect our great country. He has stood on parade behind 2 families of fallen soldiers on his first tour back to Canada in Trenton and again in November 2004. This figure he created is not just a toy, it is an never forgetting memory of our CF members of what we represent to our children, Veterans, Families and the world around us. These Heroes Force action figures is my gift for Remembrance of all present and past military members. Lest We Forget.
